Doctor Who to the Big Screen?

That's right Who fans, David Yates the director of "Harry Potter" is working to bring Doctor Who to the movies.

BBC America tweeted, "A Doctor Who feature film remains in development w/BBC Worldwide Productions in LA. As of yet no script, cast or production crew is in place."

Yates is currently on the hunt for writers. The idea is not to spin a story off the current reincarnation, but to take a new approach to the story. Regardless of the flexibility of the tale, Yates is set on keeping it's British roots, even if he ends up with American writers for the script.

"We want a British sensibility, but having said that, Steve Kloves wrote the 'Potter' films and captured that sensibility perfectly, so we are looking at American writers too." Yates told Variety.

Yates also promised to take his time with execution. "We're going to spend two to three years to get it right." Yates said. "It needs quite a radical transformation to take into the bigger arena."

I don't know about everyone else, but I'm excited! Do you have any ideas for the cast, crew, or writers? Lets hear them.
